Nautilus 500 didn't start up!!!!

I just installed my new Nautilus 500, on my Asus P4C800 E Deluxe mobo. I have the Liberty 620 ps. I made all the connections. I turn on my system and everything fires up but the Nautilus 500! I have to shutdown quickly to prevent meltdown. Again, I've checked all the connections. Any ideas? I can tap the top of the Nautilus 500 and it will come on, oh boy.... This doesn't happen every time, but I can reproduce it. When it turns on, it seems to be working ok.

Thanks,

Steve

There are a few different components of the N500 unit that should power up. Do all components turn on or off, or does the light and fan power up and not the pump? The entire unit should power on as soon as power is applied. Tapping the top of the unit would point to a lose connection inside the unit.

  • 2 weeks later...

When it didn't turn on, nothing turned on, no light, no pump, no fan. This was the case most of the time. One time it did seem that the pump did not turn on, yet the light and fan was on. I say that because my system crashed after only being on for a few minutes, and I thought everyone was on. When I looked into it, there was a message about the processor being too hot and the system was shutting down. I think it blue screened. The temp of the cpu would have needed to reach 70c to triger that. Bad news. However, the last time I had trouble was about a week ago, when it didn't turn on I tapped the top of the unit, just to see what would happen. That worked and the unit powered up! I've cycled the power 20 times, and it has worked. That still doens't give me the warm and fuzy that this unit is solid. Perhaps I should have it replaced.

Thanks,

Steve
