TheLog
Within the last 2 months I purchased a pair of CORSAIR XMS 512mb -184 pin DDR SDRAM. They run at their original settings and are not overclocked. I originally had no problems for the first month and a half. I then began to get errors citing that a memory location could not be read. These errors began to become more frequent and I began to expierence problems with high resource applications. After troubleshooting other possible problems (mobo bios, video driver, etc) I finally began to test my RAM. I have run memtest with both sticks inserted into the mobo DIMM's and have recieved numerous errors. I have also run each stick individually and recieve errors on only one of them. I have run another RAM test program and have recieved the same results. The two sticks are identical so I believe, therefore, that I have a defective product. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 6, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
