Bad Module

Recommended Posts

About 2 weeks ago I got 2 gig of corsairs Valueselect RAM. Model number vs1gb400c3. I began to experience some performance issues with various programs crashing, I thought that it may be due to OS decay (I had the install for a while.) so I reinstalled, as I was installing a game called World of Warcraft the installer kept crashing due to a bad CRC. After about 5 attempts I decided that it may be a RAM issue and I switched the modules around this time the installer got much further before it encountered the same error. I removed the module I suspected of being bad and the program installed perfectly. I loaded a program to test my memory and it did show some bad blocks on the stick of RAM. I am starting this thread more as a formality than anything else to hopefully get the replacement process started but if anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

Thanks

Korey

Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
