albertd25
I installed 2 modules by 1 gb from the XMS3200c2PT model and one of them lasted onle one day. When I tryid to turn on the PC next day it didn.t. After some tests like removing /installing the modules I realized that one of the modules was 'dead' . This module wont boot this system or any I tryied. The other same module is working fine. The PC is not OC in any way the the modules were set without changing anything in bios. I will return the faulty module and probably get a new one but I am affraid if the new one will have the same end. I wis to know if it was just a bad module or something is not right in this combination ram/motheboard?
Yellowbeard
I'd suggest you run http://www.memtest86.com on each stick individually after resetting CMOS. Also, if you can, flash the bios with known good stick if you have not already loaded the newest bios. If the system still will not boot with the suspect stick, contact Corsair on Monday or post in the WARRANTY section. Mike .
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 4, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 4, 2006 Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
