Memory for Asus A8V

Hi -

I want to add another 1Gb RAM to my system (Asus A8V-Deluxe board with Athlon 64 X2 4200+).

I have checked on the Corsair site for recommended memory for the Asus A8V-Deluxe. They suggest a few including XMS-3200C2.

I already have two sticks of CMX512-3500C2PT, which came from my previous system. Does this affect what I choose to add now?

I will not be overclocking this rig.

thanks

A related question: I have an ASUS A8V Deluxe and 4x512MB of Corsair CL2.5 ValueSelect RAM, purchased as two 1GB kits (VS1GBKIT400). From what I have been reading, performance would be better with 2x1GB sticks as opposed to the 4x512MB I have. How much better, and why? Should I sell what I have and get the Twinx2048-3200C2 as suggested here? Thanks in advance...

Well that’s crap! I came here when the TWINX1024-4400C25 1st came out and bought the TWINX1024-4400C25 pack based on this site. I would like to get 2G in my computer, and now I find out that 4 X TWINX1024-4400C25 is not the way to go. Can I exchange my TWINX1024-4400C25 for the Twinx2048-3200C2?
