Jadue
Hello! I have some questions and i hope they are not too silly. In the product sheet of my ram-modules i can read the following under "test specs" Tested at ultra-low latency settings Tested at 2-3-3-6 settings on Intel and AMD platforms Are these timings available at any FSB possible (133/166/200)? I'm asking because i had stability-problems on my system while using auto-settings and "by hand settings" with these timings (BSOD's). If i read out the SPD-Timings by CPU-Z it tells me the following things: Frq. 133 = 2,0-2-2-6 / Frq. 166 = 2,5-3-3-7 / Frq. 200 = 3,0-3-3-8 So do i always have to use the timings 3,0-3-3-8 for my PC is running at 200MHz FSB? Does it mean, the timings 2-3-3-6 (as mentioned on the spec-sheet) is only available at an low FSB? Thank you for your attention and also thanks in advance. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2006 All of our XMS modules that end with a "C2" designation will have their SPD set to JEDEC defined values for the specific IC we used to make that part. The tested setting would need to be manually set. This is posted in XMS Qualification and Testing along with the tested settings and make and model of MB we use! Jadue
Thank you very much! Now i understand. I managed to get the system stable by applying 2,8 V onto the memory. I can even make those 2-3-3-6-1T timings without bsod's (till now). Thank you!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 8, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 8, 2006 I would suggest 2T with your configuration. And you may want to upgrade your PSU when you have a chance.
Jadue
Hello! Is it realy neccesary to make 2T instead of 1T? Everything is running fine since i made the settings mentioned above. Or am i risking my ram with the 1T setting? Is there a special reason? Since my PSU is a present from my best friend, i would take this option (to get a new one) as the very last chance, if it is required at all. Thank you! Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 9, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 9, 2006 If the system is stable at 1T I would leave it there!
