__hollywoodmeo
okay, so i'm running 2xCMX512-3200c2pt dual channel, i just put them in and they're running stock (my fsb is OC'd from 333 to 400mhz, sync'd with the ram) at 2-3-3-11, and i have a question. in sandra, my memory bandwidth is ~3000mb/s. pcwizard2k6 reports bandwidth as approximately the same.. but in memtest, it states that my bandwidth is (apparently) ~1200mb/s. is this some strange bug in memtest, or is something wrong with my ram? it seems to be working fine, but i'm weirded out nonetheless. what could cause this? i think i should run 3dmark to see if my score changes (ie to tell if this is really a memtest error). and while i'm thinking of it, why does cpu-z and sandra etc leave out the PT when the detect these as CMX512-3200C2s, and the SPD settings at 3-3-3-8? is that normal (i know it only refers to the heatspreaders, but i just noticed and wanted to mention..)? i set the timings manually to the suggested 2-3-3-6 (then tras to 11, just to try) and it's working fine, but i was just wondering if 3-3-3-8 is actually supposed to be programmed as the SPD value. thanks for helpin a noob out, in advance.. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2006 Memtest is showing the un cached performance. While benchmarks running with in Windows are synthetic and will be using cache. Two different type of performance marks. The PT at the end of the part# is just to indicate the modules have a Platinum Heat Spreader the modules wether they are PT, Pro or just the C2 will all be the same memory and same SPD.
