diablofreak
I've bought this RAM for about a year for use in my Dell Poweredge 400SC server. I have 4 strips of VS 512MB Modules and is using Windows 2003. I frequent get the BSOD (Blue screen of death) and the system would be very unstable when running memory intensive applications. I've downloaded and ran memtest86, and I see hundreds of errors on each phase of the memory test  it is so bad that on EVERY PHASE there are more and more of these errors. This is a Dell Server but can run standard DDR RAM (as I'm sure a lot of people have bought the DELL PE 400sc 2 years ago due to its price/performance) Seems like I may need to RMA the modules, can you help? Thanks so much!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 31, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 31, 2006 Please test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. . diablofreak
ok. so I tested them one at a time (4 modules of 2 twin 512MB packs) 3 are great and one is bad, VS512MB400, LOT # 0439050-0, in fact it says the error are detected during system boot for this module, and testing it confirms the defect through the many errors it generated. so, I will probably need to RMA this one, but should I do both that came in this twin pack or just the defective one? thanks again
