having problems with pc4000pt ram

Recommended Posts

I used to overclock my system using Kingston ram.

I could get the fsb upto 260Mhz, with the ram dropped down to 200ddr and 3.0v,

so I looked around for a solution to run the system at 400ddr, and after a few

discussions and learning more about ram, came to the decision to buy.

Corsair cmx1024-4000pt. x2 giving me 2Gb.

the problem is I can't overclock using stock timiings and running settings

by spd. as soon as i move the fsb above 220Mhz itresets my pc.

I have tried at 2.6v,2.65v,2.7v, 2.75 and 2.8volts, without any real stability,

beyond 220Mhz. Any Idea's ? Do I have a faulty pair ?

I have also dropped the ram to 200ddr to compare it with my kingston and can't get anything above 220/230 mhz stable at all.

Help please

p.s. I have also dropped the htt down to x3, which made no difference.

Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
