phileotheos
I have an hp pavilion zv5405us laptop and it has one expandable slot for a 1GB RAM chip, total 1280MB when combined with non-expandable 256MB. I recently installed a CMSS1GB-333SOD PC2700 memory module into the expandable bay and my computer started blue screening, and when I send the error reports to Microsoft it says that the problem is hardware failure, most likely RAM. So I replaced the 1GB chip with the original 256MB and my computer runs perfectly fine. So I am assuming that the RAM I bought is faulty OR that some settings on my laptop need changed in order for the 1GB chip to run properly. ANY HELP AT ALL, would be much appreciated. I bought the RAM through New Egg.
