clpablo
I just recently downloaded some large files and couldn't extract files or install from an exe, errors claiming the file was corrupt. I've also experienced some sporadic BSODs since building this computer (End of September-05). I finally burned a MemTest 86 ISO and it resulted in lots of errors on the 2nd stick. I swapped the sticks, and the errors were consistent with the 1st stick. I removed the "bad" stick and left only the good stick, and all tests ran without errors. I feel I've eliminated the modules on the mobo, as well as narrowed the problem down to one stick. MemTest86 (http://www.memtest86.com) seems pretty reliable, from what I've read and others I've talked with. Any help would be appreciated, although it looks to be a bad stick. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2006 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS3200 Cass 3-3-3-8 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
