prototype476
2 GB (2 pcs 1GB) DDR (400) PC-3200 Corsair (TWINX2048-3200PT) I contacted the retailer (Monarch, http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv ) via email and was told that the part isn't under their warranty any longer, and that I should contact the manufacturer instead. The problem is as follows: One of the sticks of memory failed. The failed stick prevents the computer from POST-ing if it is inset in the motherboard, alone or with the other (still working) stick. The failed part was functional from approx September '05 - mid January '06, but then crashed the computer and prevented it from booting until the stick was removed and the motherboard's CMOS was cleared. Further tests, trying both sticks together and independantly show that the one stick is the problem. I know they need to be returned as a pair though, which is fine. Thanks for your time! -Locke
