Same problem with a Canon SD500

I don't understand how so many people can be having the same and/or similar problems with this or similar cameras...I too am having exactly this problem which tells me there is either a serious quality control problem with the 133X or it is not compatible with the Canon Cameras. There are no firmware updates on the Canon site and its own 32 Mb card works fine which tells me it is the Corsair Card. Although I am willing to send this in as an RMA for Corsair, the number of people having the same problem tells me that I this may only result in a multiple exchange of cards only to get back precisely where I am now.

What is the issue with this card? Please RamGuy don't say.."Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it!"

How about a real answer to what seems to be a continuing and regular problem.

What is the size of your flash card and what is the exact model number of your camera?

And For your information, we sell a verry large volume of these so compared to the number of people having problems its less that one tenth of one percent of what we sell.

My card is the 1GB 133X. The camera is the Canon Powershot SD500 Digital ELPH..Digital IXUS700.

Thanks for your help.

I just spoke to Canon and they said the camera limits are 2Gb....the spec sheet does not say 512 is the limit...it only gives possible yields for images of a given memory size with 512 being the max given. Could there be a speed problem with the card v. camera?

There should not be any issue with the cards speed from the data sheet on your camera. We can try replacing the flash drive if you like.

Yeah, but is it really necessary to go through 3 of your cards before having to switch to another brand? Yeah, I'm glad I got it resolved, but I spent so much of my valuable time, and gas money to get it resolved. There are obviously problems with your cards, and maybe a compatibility issue with Canon cameras. Did you have a bad batch or something? You guys have still never provided a real answer. It's always the same... "Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it!" Canon is a HUGE camera manufacturer... when you test your cards, do you care to test them with Canon cameras? or even Nikon? I tried the cards in a Nikon, as well as my Canon A620 and had the same problem. At least other companies are willing to research problems with their products (i.e., King ston), and there obviously is a problem in this case, whether it be a compability issue or some sort of a bad batch of product. As a reseller of your products, you are making it very difficult to keep me as someone who can recommend them to my customers.

I see your point. I would suggest you email jackflash@corsairmemory.com with your concerns and he will be abale to address them properly. But all of our cards are tested to comply with the Compact Flash Association, or Secure Digital Association, so as long as the respective camera makers follow the same spec there should not be any problems.

Corsair is a member of the industry module design body, JEDEC, the Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council, which defines memory standards. In addition, Corsair is a member of these governing boards: Compact Flash Association, Secure Digital Association and USB Flash Drive Alliance.

I was pleased to receive a complete refund from my reseller. Upon advice from Canon, I purchased at Costco a Sandisk II card, popped it in and it is running flawlessly. Even got an instant rebate at the checkout which made the card less expensive than what I paid for the Corsair card

Not sure what Corsair's problem is with the 133x card but something isn't right.
