Kakashi
I've had this computer built since around 7/3/2005 and everything worked smoothly till last week. I constantly got blue screens while playing Battlefield 2. I had first thought it was just my video driver so I tried a variety of nvidia drivers. The first x64 one i used, to the newest one, to the beta one, to the modified ones. I thought maybe a leftover installation was affecting it so I used drivercleaner to make sure all of nvidia was out and installed the first video driver that worked with bf2. Now bf2 wouldn't even finish loading a map. After a while it did load a map but right after it would crash with a BSOD or just to dekstop. I thought it was many different things before I got to the ram and I was reccomended to use memtest86+. First second of the test it came up with 588 errors on I think test #2. I went ahead and ordered another stick on newegg but I need to get this stick warrentied. Any advice? ***edit*** I just happened to have rotten luck and my system blue screens while filling out the Tech Support Express forms. Don't remember my order number and I was too stupid to write it down but I didn't get to finish it anyway. When the BSOD happened I reran memtest and here are the results. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/ryukakashi/DSCF0144.jpg and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v642/ryukakashi/DSCF0150.jpg A lot more than 588 this time around. Now I cannot even log into windows unless I'm in safe mode.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2006 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
