Xatticus
i bought the Twinx Corsair RAM sticks together (2x 512 MB) DDR 400. everything worked for about 3 months until i bought World of Warcraft. the installation would fail at any random point. i called Blizzard about it and they told me to remove a stick of RAM and the installation worked fine, threw the stick back in and i was on my way. 6 months later i started to recieve Blue Screens about how my physical memory was being dumped. i talked to my friend about this and he said my virtual memory file wasnt large enough so i bumped it up to 1gb, i kept getting the error and i bumped it all the way up to 3gb! finally it got to the point where i couldnt boot into windows. so i took out a stick of RAM and i was able to run everything perfectly. i bought it at Micro Center. can i replace just the one stick or do i need to replace both? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 30, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 30, 2006 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
