gcincotta
Recently I purchased two Corsair memory modules. CMX512 -3200C2PT...XMS3202v5.2 XMS3200 512MB 400 Mhz CL2. I've been noticing severe problems with my applications so I ran Memtest on them and came up with over 1,000 errors in 20 minutes. I ran Memtest on my second computer with different RAM and recieved no errors. I would like replacement modules please. Thank you. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 27, 2006 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
gcincotta
Using ASRock K8Upgrade-NF3 motherboard with an AMD Athlon 64 2800+ processor running at 1800 MHz with a FSB of 800 MHz. All Bios settings for CPU and Memory are set to default and auto (no overclocking or performance tweaks)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 2, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 2, 2006 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. . gcincotta
I have done what you suggested, I set the settings correctly and tested one module at a time with memtest once again. One module passed and one failed. The module that failed, errors came up immediately upon testing, the module that passed ran for 30 minutes with no errors. I believe the module that failed is faulty, what should I do now?
