Problem with Corsair SD cards sticking

One month ago I purchased a 133x 2GB Corsair SD card that I had to take back and exchange for a new one. I never had a problem with the first SD card sticking in my devices.

However, the new one sticks in some of my devices, to the point where the internal spring mechanism is not strong enough to eject the card. So I took the 2nd SD card back and exchanged it for a 3rd card. Same problem with the third one.

I have several other SD cards and none of those cards are sticking, so the problem is not with my SD card readers -- the problem is the Corsair card.

I've put the Corsair card side-by-side with the others and can see only one difference: The other SD cards have an indentation on the plastic case for the label and the Corsair card does not. So the recessed label on the non-Corsair cards makes them ever so slightly thinner than the Corsair card. Hard to believe such a small detail makes this much of a difference but I can see nothing else that could cause this problem.

Since the original card did not stick I suspect that Corsair has changed the design of their SD cards (no way for me to check since the first one has been returned). Can anyone from Corsair confirm this or offer any other explanation for why the last two cards had this problem?

I got a great deal on the Corsair card but I'm about to give up on Corsair and get another brand. Would it be possible for me to send the one I have back and get one that won't stick?

The problem is not my device it's something about the SD card design (I'm guessing the problem is by the non-recessed label).

I suspect that Corsair changed the design of the SD cards from having the recessed labels to making the plastic case flat. Or maybe it's the other way around, perhaps the first one I purchased was manufactured before the last two I got.

Can you tell me whether or not there was ANY kind of design change that could explain this problem? And which design came first?

Thanks.

The specification for SD thickness as defined by the SD Association is 2.25. All of our 133x parts are screened to make sure that they are within compliance. The tolerance built into each device is different as it is up to the device manufacture to follow the design guidelines. Due to the mass number of SD host devices that are available on the market we are not able to test every single one. If your host SD device does not have the tolerance to support our fully compliant SD card you will continue to have the problem with another version of the card. If you return the SD card to us we can verify the dimensions of the card.

I would like to add that I also have a 133x 512MB SD card, and although I haven't had a problem with it sticking, the bottom of the label does catch on the case of my Palm Tungsten E, in which I use it. The label has started to peel off at the bottom and I have considered cutting or peeling it off. I feel that this is a problem which should be addressed for future cards.

Alright, I measured mine. With the label I measured it right at 2.25mm. I also measured two other SD cards I have; a Lexar 64MB - measures 1.6mm, and a SanDisk 32MB - measures 1.4mm. As I said, mine doesn't stick, the label is just pealing where it catches on the case of my Palm. I don't believe it is the thickness of my card that causes a problem, just the composition of the label. I don't think this minor problem would be enough to keep me from buying another card, it's just more of an annoyance.
