JeTte
i just bought basically a whole new system its a MSI P4N and VS1GBKIT667D2when i load windows its says DDR speed =667 but when i go in windows it says DDR 167 effetive 333 Ratio 5:6...so went to bios and set it DDR 800 on my baord and it booted said DDR speed = 800 but when i got to windows it says 400 ratio of 1:1 ....ok ther is no way it will boot at ddr 800 and no voltage changes..... so is it the ram or is it my board or windows im confused either way my ram is running half speed....also when i bought my ram lol newegg said it was 4-4-4-12 lol thats cold wrong mine says 5-5-5-
Wired
DDR2 667 = 333 Mhz actual speed DDR2 800 = 400 Mhz actual speed With DDR memory, actual speed x 2 = their DDR speed, as twice a cycle they act.
JeTte
167=333 5300 m/b duel channel when my ram is at 667 in bios.. and 200=400 6400 m/b duel channel when my ram is at 800 in bios im not getting 333=667 10600 what i should have....when i oced it to 800 in bios in windows it said 200 = 400 1:1 with my prossesor witch is way wrong its whould be 2:1, ram at 400 base and cpu at 200 base ...and it also funny my lats are 5-5-5-15 at 167 = 333 :(
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 25, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 25, 2006 I would talk to the MB maker and have them explain the bios settings to you. To be sure.
JeTte
yeah my bios are diffirent then i useally had it doesn't use the base FSB... its already hit with the quad pump and the drr so its says Cpu = 800 Ram = 667 then i set it from ther but in windows its exactly half the cpu ocs normal too... JeTte
ive bought 3 total gigs of corsair ram 2 this year i get some bs like this on tests my ram is at ddr 2 333 the comp above mine has ddr 2 667 im not retarded i know how to read bios and everest and cpuz wow no help what so ever thanks ramguy......... wasted 100 bucks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 27, 2006 First thing, I am sorry that you are not happy, but you have asked questions that are not memory questions. Yes they involve the memory you have. However, the way the memory frequency is reported in windows and or some software has nothing to do with the make of the memory you use. How the MB bios reports the bios settings would be up to the MB maker to explain. Posted by Wired DDR2 667 = 333 MHz actual speed DDR2 800 = 400 MHz actual speed Memory frequency for DDR2 was already explained by Wired. Bottom line I am not sure what it is exactly that you expect me to tell you. I have bought 3 total gigs of corsair ram 2 this year I get some B.S. like this on tests my ram is at DDR 2 333 the comp above mine has DDR 2 667 I’m not retarded I know how to read bios and Everest and CPU-z Wow no help what so ever thanks ramguy......... I am sorry but this makes no sense to me. Please try to be more specific and ask direct questions and I will do my best to answer you.
JeTte
its funny you guys say is my motherboard ..MSi says its corsair..... to your question its shows your board, cpu, and ram in the test ...my ram comes up as ddr2 333 the systems they have above me are ddr 2 667 when i test my memory read, write, and latency it is slower then my brother ddr400 pc3200 i have a total bandwidth of pc5300 in duel channel...my old pc3200 ram had 6400 not to mention it is just slow as a dog ..windows takes like 40 seconds to load with ddr2667, a LGA520, and sata raid come on now ..everything is slow i dont see how this could even happen...i read on this site MSI, Corsair, and Nvidia all tested together...thats 3/4 the reason i bought this set up i thought i would have no problems :( and if it is correct then wow... i ran it at ddr2 800 with value ram, same lat, and no voltage change ......and it was still slow to load windows and everything else....
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 27, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 27, 2006 Its funny you guys say is my motherboard.. MSI says its corsair..... A: How can I answer questions about their bios? They made the MB and the bios they should be able to explain what they have done and why? To your question its shows your board, CPU, and ram in the test ...my ram comes up as ddr2 333 the systems they have above me are DDR 2 667 A: Please either provide a screen shot or tell us exactly what you are refereeing to. What where or who is telling you this information? When i test my memory read, write, and latency it is slower then my brother ddr400 pc3200 I have a total bandwidth of pc5300 in duel channel...my old pc3200 ram had 6400. Not to mention it is just slow as a dog ..Windows takes like 40 seconds to load with ddr2667, a LGA520, and S-ATA raid come on now..everything is slow I don’t see how this could even happen...I read on this site MSI, Corsair, and Nvidia all tested together...that’s 3/4 the reason I bought this set up I thought I would have no problems :( and if it is correct then wow... i ran it at ddr2 800 with value ram, same lat, and no voltage change ......and it was still slow to load windows and everything else.... A: DDR1 memory bandwidth will be 3000-5000 in most benchmarks depending on the chipset or platform. Again please either provide a screen shot or tell us exactly what you are refereeing to. What where or who is telling you this information? And provide detailed information part number of the memory make and model of MB and the bios settings you had set.
