layer
I just bought Gateway MX3215 from Best Buy. Here is their description: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7621371&type=product&id=1130986316122 According to their ad, this model comes with 256MB DDR2 Expandable to 1 GB. However, according to Gateway's own support site: http://support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/Q106/Magic/5948sp2.shtml this model comes with 256 MB DDR (1 × 256 MB) SODIMM (PC2700) Expandable to 1 GB. I would like to upgrade to 1 GB of memory, but I can't figure out what type I need.

Wired
From what I can find, it looks like there's 2 MX3215 out there. 1 takes DDR1 memory, 1 takes DDR2 memory. I'd call Gateway. Somewhere on your laptop is a unique ID # that they can look up and confirm it for you.
