CMC_SAVAGE
Depending on the core of your CPU, 4 sticks may only run at 333MHz.
roberts
the core of my processor is clawhammer . why would four dimms filled drop my mem to 333 instead of 400 . could i force it in bios ???and if i couldnt would i see a performance increase with another gig??? when i play games at high resolutions it sucks up almost a whole gig of mem.if i wouldnt see an increase whats my best bet?? id hate to get rid of the gig i got now it wasnt cheap!!what would be the best mem to put in ??? Any help would be appreciated. Thank Rob
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2006 This is a memory controller limitation, you would be better to replace what you have with one Twinx2048-3200C2 set of modules for best performance. Garvin
With that board and bios version 1015 and up Asus has locked the speed to 333mghz with "full loading" i.e. 4 sticks. Additionally when running 4 sticks all of the sticks must match by brand, model, and revision or the speed will downstep even with earlier bios versions and the clawhammer. Even with 4 matching sticks you'll need to run them with a 2T command rate, which will cost you some performance.
