M102
I bought a VS1GB533D2 about 3~4 months ago for my PC and i finally felt the urge to get another one... but when i got my second one, the memory modules on the stick are 1/2 the size of the first one i got. Would this pose any compatibility problems? Would it still run in dual channel?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 20, 2006 That will really depend on the MB, just try it and see if there are any errors in http://www.memtest.org. If you get errors you can follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. DerekT
I've had the same issue and have had no problems with the two different sized modules. I've got an ASUS P5PAD2-E Premium board with an Intel 630 3.0GHz processor. This board supports the 266 X 4 = 1066fsb and I have these modules running at 711MHz @ 4-4-4-10 with 2.05V. It will do 5-4-4-12 at default voltages on the 711MHz. D
