goliath90
I recently bought a VS512MBD2 memory. I think its defective. This is my second one. I bought my first module 3 months earlier. Both of the DIMMs are the same, except that the first module has 16 32MB memchips while this one has 8 64MB memchips (that might be the issue). The problem is that the computer won't boot. The first time I tried it, WinXP wouldn't boot, even though the BIOS recognized the second module and its Dual-Channel setup with the first one. So I removed the first DIMM and tried to boot the defective one on its own; didn't work. I then downloaded and ran Memtest 86+ on it. There were 520 errors, and pass = 0%. My first module worked perfectly fine when I ran memtest on it. I don't know the problem.
