Defective Memory

I recently bought a VS512MBD2 memory. I think its defective. This is my second one. I bought my first module 3 months earlier. Both of the DIMMs are the same, except that the first module has 16 32MB memchips while this one has 8 64MB memchips (that might be the issue).

The problem is that the computer won't boot. The first time I tried it, WinXP wouldn't boot, even though the BIOS recognized the second module and its Dual-Channel setup with the first one. So I removed the first DIMM and tried to boot the defective one on its own; didn't work. I then downloaded and ran Memtest 86+ on it. There were 520 errors, and pass = 0%. My first module worked perfectly fine when I ran memtest on it. I don't know the problem.

System:

Intel 3.0GHz w/ HT

Intel Motherboard D925XECV2

The two modules will not run in dual channel architecture. We have the Twinx and Kits to achieve dual channel architecture that are sold in identical pairs. Please check you have the minimum DDR voltage of 2.7v set in the bios. Also make sure you have the CMD at 2T. If after making the adjustments and you still get errors in memtest, please click the listing under in my signature "I Think I Have a Bad Part. What Do I Do?" for RMA information.
