samwise2021
I purchased a 512 MB stick of Corsair XMS PC2700 RAM from newegg.com in July 2003. After years of flawless performance the RAM seems to be dead. Recently, the computer has stalled immediately after I've flipped on the power (ie, the BIOS has not loaded). I tried the Corsair RAM in each slot in the motherboard to no avail; further, in each position it failed to register with Memtest86+. However: I swapped out the Corsair RAM with a stick of generic PC2700, and this solved the problem immediately. When I attempted to boot with both sticks of RAM, the generic RAM was recognized/utilized and the Corsair RAM was not. Long story short, the Corsair RAM seems shot. Permission to request RMA?
