1ntruder
Hi I bought the twinx2048-3200c2 for my ASUS A8N-E and my 64 3500+ Venice. But ive got a problem: I can set the timings only on 2,5-3-3-6 on 2,75 V. If I set the timings on 2-3-3-6 my windows wont boot and says that the command.sys is corrupt.:sigh!: Is this problem on this mainboard known? Because after a couple time with google I´ve found a lot of people which have a problem with this mainboard and the c2 timings.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2006 I would check for the latest bios at ftp.asus.com.tw then load setup defaults and test the modules one at a time with the memory voltage set to 2.7 Volts and lets make sure one is not failing. 1ntruder
I would check for the latest bios at ftp.asus.com.tw then load setup defaults and test the modules one at a time with the memory voltage set to 2.7 Volts and lets make sure one is not failing. Thx for the answer Ram Guy But my Motherboard runs with the up to date bios (1010) and Memtest 86 doesn´t find any errors (after a 4hrs test). Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 26, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 26, 2006 Test the modules one at a time and if they both pass I would try and move the module to the other two slots and see if that helps. Also what is the make and model of your PSU?
1ntruder
Test the modules one at a time and if they both pass I would try and move the module to the other two slots and see if that helps. Also what is the make and model of your PSU? The modules passed the single tests. The next step will be a problem, cause only in the ram sockets DIMM_A1 and DIMM_B2 is DualChannel useable with 2 ram modules. My PSU is a BeQuiet Colorline 400W Rev.1.3 +3,3 Volt: 26 A +5,0 Volt: 40 A +12 Volt: 15 A +5 Volt Standby: 2,5 A Since some days windows boot but isn´t stabil with cl2 settings. Every time i get a bluescreen (STOP:0X0000008E, win32k.sys)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted February 1, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted February 1, 2006 Can you please list your complete system configuration? If you have a 6800 Vider card or faster then the PSU you have is not enough, you can check with the Video Card maker you have to see what they suggest. I would suggest testing the modules in a known working system if you can.
1ntruder
Sure. MB: ASUS A8N-E RAM: Corsair Twinx2048-3200c2 CPU: Athlon 64 3500+ Venice GPU: Asus EN6800GT SC: Creative Soundblaster 2 ZS Platinum Pro PSU: BeQuiet Colorline 1.3 400W HDDs: 2x Exelstor J880S (RAID 0) 1x Seagate Barracuda ST3160021A With the cl2,5 settings is my system very stabil. But anyway I´ll continue testing
RJLeong65
Sounds like your PSU is too weak on the +12V rail for your high performance system: That PSU of yours put too much power on the wrong rail (a whopping 40A on the +5V rail, but only 15A on the single +12V rail). With your Athlon 64 3500+ and a single 6800GT PCI Express card, you will need a PSU with at least 24A on the +12V rail (either from a single-rail PSU or the combined capacity of a dual-rail PSU). An Antec TruePower 2.0 430W unit would be a good match for a system like yours, due to its 31A combined +12V capacity from its dual 17A +12V rails.
