CMC_SAVAGE
Memory Timings: @ 200 MHz 3.0-3-3-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) Well that's about it. The VS line of RAM really isn't made for OC'ing. Rule of thumb is, that the RAM should be in sync with the CPU's FSB. All you can do is try to relax the timings. If you planned on OC'ing the XMS line would have been a better choice. xVirusxofxLifex
Well then how do I go about doing that?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 18, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 18, 2006 I would just load setup defaults and set the voltage to 2.8 Volts since you want to over clock and let the MB set the timings and see where it tops out with http://www.memtest.org. xVirusxofxLifex
So It will automatically set it's self if I adjust the volts and run memtest?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2006 Yes the timings should be set by te SPD on the modules.
xVirusxofxLifex
alright I want to make sure. SO first I go into my BIOS and change the voltage. Save to the CMOS. then boot windows and let memtest run (I've never used memtest before btw) then after it's done thats all I hav to do?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 21, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 21, 2006 http://www.memtest.org will not run in windows, but if you get no errors , I would try the syetem you should be good to go.
