solis
I've had 2 sticks of these --->http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E1682014540, for about 1 week. Just a few days ago, my computer and mouse start laggying. For example, my mouse skipped every now and then. What should i do?
Wired
Your link only brings up 183 different parts. Gotta be specific. What CPU / FSB / Motherboard do you have? What is the exact part # and revision # of each stick? Is it a TwinX pack? How To Read the Memory Label Click here to find out how you can add your system specs to your profile and posts! Garvin
I've seen the mouse wander/jump bit with Ati or Nvidea cards and Logitech mice while using the standard Windows mouse driver. Problem fixed by installing the Logitech mouse driver.

Garvin
That looks like the correct version. Be sure to read the installation notes from the link on that page you provided. Good luck.
solis
Installing those Mouse drivers didn't solve anything? :sigh!:
Garvin
Is the mouse set to snap to buttons? In Control Panel under mouse, under pointer options. Another thing you might try is using the troubleshooter under the hardware tab of the mouse section in Control Panel.
solis
I kind of lack a little knowledge about hardware. What do you mean by the snap. atm, only thing i just disabled was "Enable Pointer Shawdow" It's really weird because this lag or skipp happens in games for a little bit, everything is normal, after 2 minutes. Then everytime I alt-tab out and go back in game get this lag for again<2min>.
solis
Anymore other solutions I should try?
solis
I think it's the computer instead of the mouse, because if I put a regular mouse in the old port, it still lags. This ram is freezing up my computer?
Garvin
Back from work. The snap function allows the mouse to snap over to the nearest item that can be clicked on. It's kind of a useless mouse function that can be enabled or disabled. If this only happening when you first go back into a game, it's likely you've got too much stuff running in the background for the quantity of ram you have. The cpu tries to play catch up on the other processes when you go out of the game and doesn't quite make it when you go back into the game so the cpu is forced to try to run both the game and the background processes at the same time as well as handle the interupts from the mouse hence the laggy performance of the mouse. After a time (say two minutes), the cpu will have gotten to the point of clearing background operations sufficiently to not have to que the mouse interupt requests and the lag stops. This seldom happens when you first fire up many games because in the process of starting the game the game program sets itself up as having higher priority than most other non-essential background processes so these other processes will be suspended from being processed by the cpu until you leave the game. The only workaround for this situation is to close down some of your background programs, especially the ones in the system tray on the right side of the taskbar or increase the quantity of ram your using. This will occur with any system with any make of ram when there isn't enough room in ram for the number of items running leading to too much hard drive swapping to cover the shortfall in ram quantity. It's the primary reason I went from 1 gig to 2 gigs of ram running Xp. I hate having to shut anything down to run something else. Well that's enough Digital Electronics 101 for one post. Good luck.
