kevin2360
I recently purchased Corsair TWIN2X1024-5400C4 1GB (2x512) DDR2 memory. My motherboard, not installed yet, is an ABIT Fatal1ty AA8XE and supports Dual channel DDR2 533/400 Unbuffered Non-ECC memory. I'm wondering what the implications are of having memory faster then my board supports? Any info is much appreciated:):
Garvin
Plenty of headroom for overclocking.
kevin2360
So I'm assuming it should be easier to overclock past the 533 that the board supports. Will I be able to reach the full 675MHz the RAM is rated for? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 14, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 14, 2006 You just have to try it, but this MB is known to be a good over clocking MB. I would suggest you read some of the reviews and how they over clock.
