Colin_Eilts
I am posting this topic due to your clause in the help section of having to post in order to get an RMA. I am positive it is the memory. My computer, after only one year of use, randomly started freezing and slowing down immensely, well shortly after, not log enough for me to fix it, my computer turned off and would not start back up, only continuous beeps from my computer would be heard. I took out my memory and inserted a friends and it worked perfectly, so I ordered a new piece of the exact same memory and the computer runs fine. On my seemingly defective stick, several golden colored plates seem to have exploded or melted. And no I did not over clock my memory stick nor any other part of my computer. I would like to request an RMA unless advised otherwise. My relevant computer's components are: Intel 2.8 GHz processor w/ HP Seagate 120GB hd Asus P4800 motherboard Gainward GeForce Ti4800 video card Corsair CMX512-3200C2Pro (the same stick I hope to replace) Thank you very much
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 12, 2006 If you plan on using the new module and the old one together I would suggest you get both modules replaced and ask customer service to match them. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
