Help choosing ram for new system

I'm a 'power user' running a lot of multitask including:

Solidworks 2005 3d CAD

Photoshop CS (ver 8)

Often rip/burn 2 DVD's simultaneously

Occasional video editing

Occasional 3d gaming (Doom, FPS's)

plus all the other standard office stuff.

Proposed system:

Athlon 64 4400 x2

2GB Corsair ram (Model# TBD)

Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe or A8N-SLI Premium

Nvidia Quadro fx 3400 or 1400 PCIe workstation card

2x W.D. SATA 320Gb in Raid 1

1x W.D. ATA133 200Gb

1x Seagate 7000.8 120Gb

Dual DVDRW Pioneer 110D

Trying to decipher the sea of specs  and info on ram and need some guidance. WHAT RAM SHOULD I USE??? Plus, which MB is the best one?

Looking at Corsair TWINX2048-3500LLPRO with 2-3-2-6 timing but also at the Corsair TWINX2048-4000PT with 3-3-3-8 and maybe overclock FSB265 as on the corsair site.

I need advice on which RAM is best suited to teh system in question and the applications. I'm stick on the timing thinking lower MUST be faster yet the 4000PT carrise a faster speed rating but at slower timing. Real world, which is faster and how much? Is the price premium worth it for the faster timing?

Also toying with a P4 solution but doal core processors in the P4 are from what I can see expensive versus AMD and AMD is faster in most tests. Am I on the right track with the AMD over the p4 for my usage?

Many questions to answer  , thanks in advance.
