Adding memory to Dell 9150

Hi I just ordered a Dell Dimension 9150 with a Pentium D 830 and 512 MB of DDR2 533MHz memory installed. I'd like to buy an additional 2 GB of DDR2 memory to add to the system, but I have two questions:

1. Will the fact that I have 2x1GB and 2x256mb modules on the same system work OK, or am I better off only using the 1GB modules and discarding the 256MB ones?

2. Will I get any performance benefit by buying faster memory (667 MHz) instead of the recommended 533 MHz memory?
