Scogin72
It is being requested by Corsair techsupport that I run both of my XMS 2048x 3200c2 modules through memtest86. I have run the one module that is currently working through one complete pass of memtest with no errors. I cannot run the suspected bad module through the test because when I install it alone or with the other module in any combination, my monitor will not come on. Without the monitor I cannot see the bios or the DOS screen utilized by memtest86, and I get the continuous voice error message "System failed memory test". I have tried it on two different monitors, one DVI and the other VGA. No difference. I have another computer, a Dell Dimension 8200,but I do not believe I can run this memory in that machine as it takes strictly RIMM modules. Looking for any ideas you might have to satisfy techsupport.
Dark Penguin
I have almost the same problem and hardware, except it is only doing that with one module, and when I remove that one, the other one does not give me error messages, but the monitor does not come on still. Might there be a problem with the other module too and the mobo can't find it and is stalling on it?
Scogin72
I am not sure what is causing it except that I believe I have one bad stick of Corsair memory. I would like to send it back to Corsair for a replacement but I have to jump through the hoops first.
