chevron
Hello, I've bought several new components: CPU: Intel P4 3,2GHz MoBO: Asus P5WD2 (not premium or deluxe) Ram: 2GB Mem Module Kit of VS1GB533D2 Graphics: Sapphire X850XT 256MB PCI-e At the start up my pc identifies all parts, so no prob so far. Then I want to install Win XP on my new HDD but after loading all the drivers (not copying anything) a bluescreen appears. I tried with one module, two modules at one time but nothing changed. A friend of mine told me that I have to change the chip setting so I looked in here: http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38150 but I only find parameters for twinx xms modules with the P5WD2. I am not sure if the VS1GB533D2 is a xms module and didn't try those setting so far. Can I use those settings or do I have to try other settings for my ram? Please excuse my bad english :sigh!: Thanks in advance for your help. chevron

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 11, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 11, 2006 Just plug them in and load setup defaults and I would set the memory voltage to 1.9 Volts and you should be good to go!
chevron
still got the blue screen with the technical information: STOP: 0x0000007B any other ideas? edit: I googled the full error message and it leads straight to a sata hdd prob. we'll check that out now (at 11:55 pm). maybe the ram works fine.. let's see Ok, we fixed it. Sorry for the "terror". For all those who may have the same porblem, here is how we fixed it: It's all about plugging the CD/DVD Drive into the right IDE controller. There are two black IDE Controller and one blue controller. Plug the CD/DVD Drive into the blue IDE controller an it works fine :) After 6 hours of trying we've done it. yehaa greetz from Germany
