Bad stick of Corsair TwinX 2048-3200c2

Purchased this set from NewEgg on 11/29/05. Didn't install in new system build until week after Christmas. Everything was fine until this morning when I was on the system and the monitor went out and received looping voice error " System failed memory test", over and over and over.

Removed sticks of memory and re-installed one at a time in the A1 slot. System would boot and run fine with one stick. System would run but no monitor activity and continuous voice error with other stick. Guessed the second stick was bad.

NewEgg willing to RMA but due to being over 30-days they will charge 15% overstocking fees. Thats ridiculous when you are returning defective products. I could see it if I just changed my mind and wanted my money back. Anyways, thought I would check with Corsair to see if I could do better through them with an RMA.

thanks for you help

Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
