hell_rider Posted January 10, 2006 Share Posted January 10, 2006 I am building a system and planning on overclocking the cpu which will be a normal LGA775 3,4 Ghz 800 fsb 2mb L2 cache . DsN2 Posted January 10, 2006 Share Posted January 10, 2006 Assuming your mobo can handle it, ideally you would want a 1:1 ratio I think. For example ... Pentium 930 w/ 800 MHz FSB (200MHz x 4) DDR2 533 (266MHz x 2) You would need to OC your CPU to 1064MHz (266MHz x 4) to bring everything to it's full potential. Essentially I am saying that advances in DDR2 are way ahead of Intel's CPU FSB so you don't need the fastest RAM available to get the best performance. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
