davxl
I recently installed a corsair "value select" one gig stick of ddr2 533ghz memory. When I check the status in my computer>properties, it reads as follows: intel M 2.ghz 798mhz, 1 gig ram Does this mean the cpu is operating at 798 instead of 2 gig or what does this mean? If I re-install the original 256 sticks (from dell) the 798 disappears. Thanks.
Wired
one gig stick of ddr2 533ghz memory = 1 GB @ 533 Mhz 798mhz, 1 gig ram = 1 GB @ 800 Mhz
davxl
one gig stick of ddr2 533ghz memory = 1 GB @ 533 Mhz 798mhz, 1 gig ram = 1 GB @ 800 Mhz does this mean that the ram is operating correctly & that the cpu speed (2ghz) is not affected? thanks again. Yes. 798MHz = DDR2-798 = PC2-6384. (Actual memory clockspeed: 399MHz.) Close enough to the JEDEC DDR2-800 spec without going over the rated spec.
