Wired
What CPU / FSB / Motherboard do you have? What is the exact part # and revision # of each stick? Is it a TwinX pack? How To Read the Memory Label If you have more than one stick, have you tested one stick at a time in each slot using Memtest86+? matthew_buc
I bought the following type of memory a VALUE SELECT 512 MB Memory Module. With a serial number = 332194 And a lot code = 0537051-0 I do not believe it is a TwinX Pack. My computer is a Viglen Contender PC It has a Vig501S Motherboard, A Pentium 4 2.66GHz S478 Processor and I think the FSB is 533. This my second post about this memory I thought I would start a new one to get your attention. Here is a response to WIRED’s questions, I have tried the memory in both slots both on its own and with another card, however it still failed. I have also tested each slot with my old memory and both the slots work. After all this testing I did my self I got it tested by an IT technician at work, he also found it to be faulty. The reason why I haven’t been able to test it with Memtest86+ is because of the nature of the problem. After adding the memory I attempt to start up the computer, however nothing works I can’t even get into the bios, the power comes on but that is all. Can I please have a RMA number without any further delay.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 17, 2006 What is our modules part#? (How To Read the Memory Label) And you should be using DDR333 memory with this system.
matthew_buc
what do you mean when you say modules part is this it VS512MB400C3 And are you indicating that it won't work on my system because it isn't DDR333. If so it doesn't take away from the fact that ive had it tested by professionals who found it to be faulty regardless of what system it it is in. Also by saying guaranteed compatibility with all major motherboards you should at least just give me an rma number. You also put attention to customer satisfaction, note I am definitely not satisfied. You have so far written roughly 55 words ignoring copied links. compared to my more detailed reply of roughly 380 words. I wouldn't mind a more detailed reply next time so we can sort this out as quickly as possible.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 24, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 24, 2006 First thing is, I am sorry that you are having trouble, But the MB and CPU you have may require that you set the memory Freq. manually to run at DDR333. This is a chipset limitation. If the FSB of your CPU is 400 For Intel and 100 MHz for AMD, the memory speed supports only DDR 266. If the FSB of your CPU is 533 For Intel and 133/166 MHz for AMD, the memory speed supports DDR 266/333 If the FSB of your CPU is 800 MHz for Intel and 200 MHz for AMD, the memory speed supports DDR 333/400 If you just want to get the module rpeplaced then by all means please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
