sde219 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I have two systems that are badly in need of a memory upgrade and I pulled two of these sticks from one before I sold it. The two systems aren't anything special. One is an eMachines T2893 and the other is an eMachines T3406. The memory guide suggests this for the first system: CMSS1GB-333 1GB CMSS512MB-333 512MB CMSS256MB-333 256MB and suggests this for the second system: CMSS1GB-400 1GB CMSS512MB-400 512MB CMSS256MB-400 256MB Am I able to use the sticks I own in either of these computers? Would there be any negative effects to the memory or system performance if I opted to do so? Thanks!
Wired Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Doubt they'd work, as XMS needs 2.7 volts, and OEM systems don't have those types of settings in their BIOS.
