BAD Stick of memory

Nowhere near enough info to give you a response.

 

What error was it? What game? Did it happen more than once? Is it repeatable?

 

Correct settings for 3200XLs:

 

CAS Latency (tCL): 2

RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 2

Row Precharge (tRP): 2

Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 5

 

Memory Voltage: 2.75 Volts

All other settings to defaults.

Ok the game is World of Warcraft and the error was error #132. if you go onto http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-tech-support&t=308254&p=1&tmp=1#post308254 you will find the error and explination. I have been trying to run memtest but i dont have a floppy drive and I havent had any luck trying to burn it onto a cd and booting from cd.

When you burn the Image you have to select burn image from with in your CD-R software. You cannot just drag and drop the image file. Look for the Brun Image option in your software and try to make the Memtest CD again please.

ok here were my results for the memtest: tst:6 Pass:0 Failure address: 0002a944030-681.2mb good:00001000 Bad:00009000 err-bits:00008000 count:26 and it said the latency settings were at 2.5-3-3-5.. could that be the problem? should i change it to 2-2-2-5?

I would try the voltage at 2.8 Volts and see if the errors are still present. If so lets get them replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

Ok so I put in a RMA Order request and i got the rma number and everything but is there any way that you can do advanced replacement because i work on my computer and cannot afford to not have a running computer for the week and a half it will take to send the package to you and then for you to send the good RAM back.

like would i be able to give you a credit card # so that if were to not send back the bad RAM then you can charge it to the card or something.. I can garentee that i will send it back immediately once i get the new RAM but you will have my card # as collateral.. tell me if you think there would be someting i could do too that effect.. thanks in advance

We do not sell direct so that is really hard to do. But you will need to talk to our customer service about that and see if there are any other options. In tech support we do not have the ability to do that sorry.
