bstark73
Hi, I have the following general setup: EPoX EP-9NPA+Ultra Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard ATI 100-435513 Radeon X800XL 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core For this setup, i purchased the following corsair RAM: CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model VS1GBKIT400 However, looking at the corsair site, i see the only memory like this (ie in a 2x512k kit) is VS1GBKIT400C3. So, since mine does not have the 'C3' suffix, do i have incompatible memory? I am having troubles with random freezes, machine check errors, etc and am wondering if i don't have RAM that is 100% compatible with my motherboard and this is the cause of my problems. If this is the case and i need to replace my RAM, does corsair offer an exchange service via warranty? I have only had this system for less than 3 months. thanks, Brett. Wired
they're compatible. contact their cust service dept to see if they do advanced exchange. IIRC they generally don't, as they have no way of processing Credit Cards.
bstark73
OK, thanks....should i be looking at going to a higher spec memory part(s)??...Do you have a suggestion and what type of real % performance gain can i expect? Brett
ZeroZero
Wouldn't it be better to first solve your problem and then look for other memory? It might be a simple thing that you have overseen when you built your computer like the power from your PSU.
