booboo0705
I purchased a gig 2x512 of valueselect (vs512mb400) and one stick is apparently bad.The games that I would be playing would just dissapear in the middle of playing.Initially I thought it was my videocard.Since I wanted to upgrade anyway I bought a new one and reinstalled my os at the same time. The issue did not stop so I ran memtest 3.2 and almost immediately started getting errors. So next I swapped slots just to ensure that the board was good since the entire pc is new. So,no matter what the games crash or dissappear when the one module is in.I have it out now and memtest passes. What other steps do I have to do to replace this module? Thanks -Bill
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 24, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 24, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
