biliousfrog
I've just bought a 1gb value select kit to add to the 1gb kit I already have installed but it doesn't show as 2gb although the corsair memory is being detected by SiSoft's Sandra. Both kits work ok on their own but not together, I have been running the original 1gb kit along with a XXXX 512mb kit with no problems but felt the need to upgrade. I'm guessing that it might be to do with the timings or something but I don't really know how that works & I can't find anything in the Bios to adjust it....or even to show what memory is installed which is why I'm using Sandra. The Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9, nForce 4. Here's the summary from Sandra. SiSoftware Sandra Mainboard Manufacturer : Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 25, 2005 You cannot mix memory with this platform all of the modules would need to be exactly matched.
biliousfrog
dammit, back to the store it goes then:(: So I'd need to match the timings, for example my current set are 2.5, 3, 3, 3 so I should get a set with those same timings which is why I could use my 1gb & 512mb kits together despite running in single channel mode but this 1gb Corsair kit won't run because it's 3.0, 3, 3, 8? All this new technology is making things really confusing, go back to Win98, SD Ram & noisey fans I say....bah. humbug:roll: !
