Doogal
Hi, I have just bought a pair of the Corsair 1Gb value sticks to upgrade my system and unfortunately whereas the machine starts up okay and reads the RAM count correctly but when it gets into windows all the apps that normally load on startup do so as it should but then the machine then blue screens and restarts itself, there have been a couple of different ones but the only one i remember is the one relating to IRQ settings which strikes me as a little odd. On replacing the older generic RAM the machine works 100% any ideas? MB is a Giga GA-7N400 Pro2

Wired
What's the speed of the older memory?
Doogal
older mem is the same speed (PC3200) only thing i can think of is the difference in power consumption, i have an older PSU that i haven't changed out for a while, have a new one sitting in my office waiting for me to fit it but as it has been fine up to now i haven't bothered installing it, this is probably beside the point though as if any more power is used by the new sticks it will be marginal. i am thinking i may have a duff pair, shame really :)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 25, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 25, 2005 You cannot use 4 double sided modules with this MB. Please check you user manual for the memory spec.
Doogal
Hi, I wasn't actually using 4 sticks of RAM while experiencing these problems, after further testing it turns out that one of the matched pair is duff, looks like i will be RMAing it, bit of a shame but will have to wait a little longer to get 2Gb working
