dm123
Dear support Since I have replaced the memory of my PC with 2 DDR TwinX 512 Mo PC3200 XL I have an issue. Some applications suddenly close themselves without any reason or don't start at all (they close immediately). The same PC with 1x Kingston KVR40064C3A 512Mo was working perfectly without this problem. I have downloaded the program MemTest-86 to check the 2 DDR TwinX 512 Mo PC3200 XL and for the test #5 the program finds 1785 errors. The BIOS memory options of the ASUS A8V DELUXE are to defaults/auto. I think I have a bad part. Thanks for your help
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 20, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 20, 2005 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.8 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. dm123
Thank you I'm going to do that. (I have just runned memtest86+ before and there is also an error at test #4. see capture 4.JPG)
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 20, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 20, 2005 Did you set the memory voltage? If you did and got this error then I have no problem replacing the modules, but if you did not these modules have a minimum suggested voltage of 2.75 Volts. dm123
Yes... Now that my system is fast and perfectly stable, I have one more question. Is there a complete technical datasheet of the CORSAIR DDR TwinX 512 Mo PC3200 XL ? The BIOS of the ASUS A8V Deluxe motherboard let me also parameter the TRWT, TWR, TRFC, TWCL, the Asynclat, the Read Preamble Setting (in ns), the 2T command [enable, disabled], the burst length, and the TRC. But All I know by far is only the CAS latency, the TRCD, the TRAS and the TRP. Maybe I may optimize the other settings, or enable them. Thanks if such a document exists.
