Kraig
I have a Gigabyte GA-8I848P-L motherboard and currently run a generic 512Mb (PC3200, 400Mhz, 2.5-3-3-8) memory. The other day I bought a pair of matching Corsair 2 X 512Mb Value Select memory sticks (VS1Gb400Kit PC3200, 400Mhz, 2.5-3-3-8), which I should be receiving tomorrow. But I just read my motherboard manual and only just found out that I can only have run a maximum of two double-sided sticks. As the 2 X 512 mb sticks, as well as my current generic stick (I'm assuming all 512Mb RAM are double-sided), are all double-sided, does that mean I'll have to take out my generic stick and only run the two Corsair sticks? And if I try to run all three sticks at the same time, will it damage my computer or give me memory errors?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2005 Its not wise to mix memory but you are welcome to try and if you use more than 2 modules I think the MB will need to run the memory at DDR333 is what they are saying.
