ptx2718
I have an ASUS P4P800 currently with just a Corsair CMX512-3200C2 v1.2. My processor is an Intel P4 with 800MHz FSB Using the Memory Guide on the Corsair Website I got an option for the best overclocking: TWINX2048-4000PT, the lowest latency: TWINX2048-3500LLPRO, and the most popular: TWINX2048-3200C2. Then, looking through my ASUS manuel, and the ASUS website and some of the other threads here, I was left a little confused. I might be have this wrong but I don't the TWINX2048-4000PT would work with my system because it has a memory frequency of 500MHz and I would need at least a CPU FSB of 1000MHz not 800MHz to support the DDR memory frequency. Is that right? Then I saw on the ASUS website that my motherboard only supports using one pair of modules at a time, so I wouldn't be able to use all four DIMM sockets. Is that right? So best memory configuration for me would be...? TWINX2048-3500LLPRO? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2005 That MB will only support DDR400 oficially and the CPU you have will likely top out about 220 Mhz. So I would suggest Twinx2048-3500LLPro if you want to over clock.
