punkrockpolak
I posted this under the "customer Care" subthread earlier today, but I guess this is supposed to be the right place to post... I've had my CMX512-3200C2PRO module for a while, paired with a XXXX 512mb module and they have been working fine together for the entire time that I've had them (had the XXXX module longer than the Corsair one). In September I had upgraded my motherboard to a Gigabyte 8I848P-G and had both modules working fine on the board until now. I've gotten crashes in a bunch of games including World of Warcraft and Need for Speed. I tried running the games on one memory module at a time and the crashes only occured with the Corsair module. I ran memtest on both modules individually and I got errors only on the Corsair module. Any help? Paul
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 17, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 17, 2005 Please try the system with just our module and load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Over voltage control to +.2 Volts and test the module with http://www.memtest.org. punkrockpolak
I changed the settings and ran memtest and it showed no errors (I let it run for 4 passes). The random crashes while playing games continues though (using only the Corsair memory). Using only the Corsair memory, World of Warcraft ran for 17 minutes before it crashed, and 14 minutes before crashing on a second attempt. Using only the "xxxx" memory, World of Warcraft ran for 7 hours with no crashes. I have no other systems on which to test the memory, but at this point I am pretty convinced that it is the Corsair memory causing the crashes since I haven't gotten a single crash while the Corsair was out of my system. Wired
What's the specs of the other memory? What CPU / FSB is in your system?
punkrockpolak
The other memory is GEIL 512mb pc3200 (not sure of exact model but it's with the blue heat spreader). Motherboard is Gigabyte GA-8i848P-G with FSB800. CPU is Intel Pentium 4 3.0ghz (Prescott).
