tcgoetz
I just rebuilt my computer last week. I used a VS512MB400 IGB kit. It was running fine for a week, than today it stopped booting. I tried each ram module individually. It boots and runs fine with one and fails with the other. Most of the time it reboots during POST sometimes it starts to boot the OS and reboots. If you check my id, you'll see that this is the 2nd bad module I've had this year. This level of failure has me concerned about buying Corsair. Out of the 6 Corsair modules I've bought, 2 have failed.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 16, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 16, 2005 Can you tell me bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 19, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 19, 2005 AMD Cool'n'Quite should be Disabled and I would set the memory voltage to 2.7 Volts and test the module with http://www.memtest.org to be sure. tcgoetz
With those changes to setting it did make it past POST and ran memtest86, however memtest86 logged 6 errors.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 21, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 21, 2005 Please test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org and let's make sure one is not failing. If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. tcgoetz
I have tested them individually. Only one part produces errors in memtest86. In my latest run the bad one failed test 3, 4, 5, 6 with a total of 12971 errors. I'm going to fill out the rma for for that one.
tcgoetz
Also I paired up the good module with another VS512MB400 from another machine and it passes memtest86 in a dual channel configuration in the original machine.
