Cannot get Value select Mem to pass memtest86 in Dual ch

Recommended Posts

I've been reading this forum and it seems this is common problem.

however -I've tried many of the sugestions with no avail.

The ram passes the memtest86 is single ch mode, but it will not pass in dual ch. mode. The errors are only in test 5.

so far I have the settings as follows (per program cpuz)

cas latency 2.5

ras to cas delay 3

ras percentage 3

tras 8

TRC 11

dram auto timer 16

it also shows i'm running the ram at a freq. of 200.1

I have the 2t set to enabled -- disabled didn't help

I updated the MB bios from 213 to 218 - no help

I thought it might be a power supply but i replaced it with a 520 and it didn't help.

I tried changing the voltage to 2.7 - no help

Please help - I'm banging my head over here ..

thanks

If the modules pass http://www.memtest.org one up with 2t Command Rate set to Disabled that would suggest its not the memory. However, I would load setup defaults and then set the these settings and test the modules with http://www.memtest.org.

the Dim Voltage to +2.7 Volts:

CAS Latency CL=2.5

Row Cycle Time tRC Bios Default

Row Refresh Cyc Time tRFC Bios Default

Ras# to CAS# delay tRCD 3

Row to Row delay Bios Default

Min Ras# Active Time tRAS 8

Row Precharge Time tRP 3

Write Recovery Time Bios Default

Write to Read delay Bios Default

Read to Write Delay Bios Default

Refresh Period tREF Bios Default

Enable 2T Timing Enabled

If you still get errors I would test the modules one at a time with the 2t Command Rate set to Disabled and lets make sure one is not failing. If both pass one up but still fail when in D/C mode I would ask AMD to RMA your CPU.
