darthasp
I have a real problem with some corsair modules... My System: Asus A7n8x-E deluxe BIOS 1013 Athlon 3200+ Hiperpower 350W CPU I have a matched pair of VS512MB400C3 and the system is very unstable I Have performed the following tests according to advice on this forum. POSTID # = 171208 | #8 POST ID # = 115264 | #2 1. I have set the Jumper setting on Motherboard from default 1-2 to 2-3 2. Tested my machine in memory slot 1 with a very cheap no named piece of RAM 184 Pin Dimm - SDRAM - 2.5V - DDR - PC2100 (PC-266) - Non-ECC Bios Settings = Auto Memtest reported RAM 200Mhz (DDR400) / CAS 3-3-3-8 / Single Channel (64bits) Three passes of standard test no errors Machine boots and runs without blue screen So this proves nothing wrong with machine or slot... Results on Corsair Value Select Matched pair RAM in same slot Using Memtestx86 V3.2 Module 1 = 784-0511099-0222809 Test 1: 3-4-4-8 + 2.7v 200Mhz Single Channel Result: MemTest #6 = Errors Test 2: 3-3-3-8 + 2.7V 200Mhz Single Channel Result: MemTest #3 = Errors Test 3: 2.5-3-3-8 + 2.7v 200Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest #5 = Errors Test 4: 2.5-3-3-6 + 2.7v 200Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest #5 = Errors Test 5: 3-4-4-8 + 2.7V 166Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest #6 = Errors Test 6: 3-3-3-8 + 2.7v 166Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest #4 = Errors Module 2 = 784-0511099-0222810 Test 1: 3-4-4-8 + 2.7v 200Mhz Single Channel Result: MemTest #7 = Errors Test 2: 3-3-3-8 + 2.7V 200Mhz Single Channel Result: MemTest #3 = Errors Test 3: 2.5-3-3-8 + 2.7v 200Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest #5 = Errors Test 4: 2.5-3-3-6 + 2.7v 200Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest #5 = Errors Test 5: 3-4-4-8 + 2.7V 166Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest two passes no errors Test 6: 3-3-3-8 + 2.7v 166Mhz Single Channel Result: Memtest two passes no errors Tested both sticks in another machine and it will not POST. I would like to run my memory at 200mhz in dual channel mode Any other suggestions....? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 15, 2005 Getting errors with both modules would suggest some other problem. Please try these settings: With the A7N8X-E and bios version 1.013 or newer please set the FSB jumper to pins 2-3 with the modules in slots 2-3 and then reset or clear the bios and load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts and set the timings manually. Then please test the system with http://www.memtest.org. CPU Freq: 200 MHz System Performance: User Define Memory Frequency: 100% Dim Voltage to 2.7 Volts Resulting Frequency: 200 MHz SDRAM CAS Latency: 3T SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 3T SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3T SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8T Some have reported success disabling Spread Spectrum in the bios as well. I would take a look at http://www.asusforums.org as well in the AMD section.
