zumavt
PROCESSOR, 80546, 3.0, 1M, PENTIUM 4 PRESCOTT DT, 800, D0 MODULE, DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 2X256, 400, NON-ECC, DIMENSION Dimension 4600 Max Memory : 4.0 GB Expansion Slots : 4 sockets Processor Intel Pentium 4 Details : 800MHz FSB, Intel 865PE Chipset I'm am eventually hoping to upgrade to 2gb of ram for the system above but was wondering if I would be able to add 1gb now and replace the 2 x 256 with another 1gb later. After reading a number of threads, I am concerned that adding 2 x CMSS512MB-400 now might reduce the speed to 333 or that eventually 4 x CMSS512MB-400 could do the same. If that is true, is my only choice to install 2 x CMSS1GB-400 right now? Is this type of information readily available or are there too many factors for newbs like myself to reliably figure it out. The finder offered the following: CMSS1GB-400 1GB CMSS1GB-333 1GB CMSS512MB-333 512MB CMSS512MB-400 512MB CMSS256MB-400 256MB CMSS256MB-333 256MB Thanks in advance, zuma
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 15, 2005 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 15, 2005 For best price and performance I would replace what you have with one VS2GBKit400C3 and just not use the modules that came with your system.
